The Hickman was recently the first building globally to achieve the prestigious SmartScore ‘Platinum’ rating, demonstrating cutting-edge innovation with the use of market-leading technology, processes and automation to deliver world-class outcomes to all building users whilst providing an efficient, inspirational, sustainable and future-proofed building.
BIM Technologies were involved from the early phases of development after GPE acquired the Hickman in 2019 and were tasked with producing the asset information requirements as well as the asset naming conventions and developing handover strategies.
Sustainability, wellbeing and technology are core principles of the Hickman’s design. BIM Technologies have facilitated the integration of technology such as Twinview’s digital twin platform allowing the property manager to rationalise and optimise space as well as reducing the building’s carbon footprint, bringing the entire organisation closer to net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Throughout the design and construction stages, BIM Technologies worked closely with the design and construction teams to ensure a coordinated 3D model was produced to collect and audit asset data throughout operation.
Twinview was implemented to automatically validate the data and ensure that a verified data handover met GPE’s asset information requirements. Working closely with GPE and the Master Systems’ Integrator (MSI), BIM Technologies were able to link the Building Management System (BMS) and other smart systems in the building to the Twinview ecosystem, enabling a full and seamless integration of the Twinview digital twin platform and all of its modules within the building.
