Brent Cross Shopping Centre, London’s first and most iconic retail destination is to undergo a £1.4bn redevelopment as its owners Hammerson and Standard Life Investments begin a major public consultation to ensure it meets the needs of its shoppers for the future.
BIM.Technologies have been involved from an early stage of the project as Information Managers, helping Hammersons to define the site-wide BIM Strategy, over the various phases of this iconic project.
As part of this BIM.Technologies have also undertaken the extensive role of BIM Coordinator; coordinating new construction with existing structures and complex infrastructure routes and connections.
BIM.Technologies Warboard software has been used as the platform for issue management on the project and has been well received by both the client and consultant team.
The regeneration of Brent Cross London will double the size of the existing centre to 2 million sq ft of retail and leisure space. This will include up to 150 new retail stores and 50 new restaurants, state of the art leisure and cinema offer, hotel accommodation and improved public spaces including a new town square. The plans also include a relocated and enlarged bus station as well as improved transport and highways infrastructure.
