First Street Cultural Facility - Manchester

As part of an on-going relationship with Wates Group, BIM.Technologies were appointed by the leading Contractor to implement, manage and ultimately assist in the delivery of BIM assets to this nationally recognised exemplar BIM client.

BIM.Technologies put in place the project BIM Execution Strategy and set this in context with supporting documentation of Project BIM Protocol and BIM Strategy. In our extended role as BIM Coordinator, we began the process of compiling the client dataset with a federated BIM using Autodesk Navisworks. As well as being leveraged to provide the end-user client with its BIM deliverables, this is also being used to drive project efficiencies through its use for coordination reviews and as a construction sequencing (4D) tool.

BIM.Technologies have also used this project as a pilot of our innovative ‘coordination dashboard’ technologies, showcasing the efficiencies of the BIM to the team, and effectively managing the process of coordination with our simple user interface environment.

Further to our appointment as BIM Coordinator, BIM.Technologies have also been appointed to author the architectural Building Information Model to assist in the project-wide coordination that would otherwise have been impossible.
