The Life and Mind Building is set to become one of the University of Oxford’s most significant capital projects to date, designed to advance how biological and psychological sciences are taught, researched, and experienced. Once complete, it will transform the learning environment for students while enabling world-leading scientific research that addresses major global challenges.
The building will house state-of-the-art laboratories and flexible teaching spaces, alongside areas dedicated to public engagement. Exhibition zones, lecture halls, and event spaces will support the University’s outreach efforts, welcoming visitors and the wider community into this innovative academic setting.
Located at the entrance to Oxford’s Science Quarter, the development is carefully designed to connect the university with the surrounding parks, neighbourhoods, and city streets. A series of landscaped terraces, centred around a new public plaza, provide accessible routes into the building from multiple levels. These green spaces offer areas for relaxation, social interaction, and informal study, creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and local residents alike.
BIM Technologies has been appointed to carry out model coordination and comprehensive model quality audits, ensuring a high level of accuracy and collaboration across the project team. We’re proud to support the delivery of a building that will shape the future of scientific research and community engagement at one of the world’s leading universities.
