Martineau Galleries is set to become a landmark destination within Birmingham’s city centre- transforming an underutilised site into a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable neighbourhood. At the heart of the masterplan is a commitment to creating a safe, accessible and green urban environment that prioritises people over vehicles.
The development will feature approximately 2.5 acres of car-free public realm, enhancing pedestrian connections and enabling a more natural flow through the city. Importantly, the scheme will integrate with major transport infrastructure, including the proposed Curzon Street HS2 station, helping to futureproof the development and connect it seamlessly to the wider region.
BIM Technologies were appointed to lead on defining the digital strategy for the scheme. Our role includes shaping the brief for a digital twin and smart building specification- ensuring that intelligent systems and data-driven technologies are embedded from the outset.
In these early stages, we are working closely with the client and design teams to coordinate the evolving design and establish robust processes for specification data capture. By developing this structured digital foundation during the pre-planning phase, we are helping to ensure the long-term success and operational efficiency of the development.
Martineau Galleries represents a bold step forward for central Birmingham- a place that will combine meaningful public space, strong transport links and future-ready buildings to create a thriving new neighbourhood. BIM Technologies is proud to support the delivery of a digitally enabled masterplan that places sustainability, connectivity and people at its core.
