BIM.Technologies have been commissioned to provide information management services to Interserve during the construction of the University of Wolverhampton’s New Business School. We have been commissioned to coordinate the strategy, execution and the delivery of the BIM process.

The project in question is a new £18m six-storey, 6,000 square metre business and teaching facility, intended to accommodate the increasing numbers of students enrolling to the university. As a flagship building, the New Business School will reinforce UoW’s reputation as a centre of business excellence on both a regional and national level.

Designed by Sheppard Robson, the building houses teaching facilities, offices, meeting rooms and a café.

As part of our contribution to the project, we will be delivering a data-rich building information model of the Business School to the university, along with O&M manuals designed to make for better, more efficient facilities and lifecycle management.

The project team see the Business School as an opportunity to demonstrate an example BIM process run in accordance with the industry PAS1192-2:2013 standard, with COBie utilised as the vehicle for data extraction and implementation into facilities management.

The New Business School is due for completion in August 2015.
